great joins that really speed up your knitting by helping the stitches to glide along. This same quality, when combined with a very slick yarn like rayon or when using double point needles, may be a nuisance. In this case, a needle with more friction may be what's needed. Roxi prefers the Brittany double points and I like the Crystal Palace bamboo double points.

What about a slick yarn knitted on circular needles? Bamboo! Which ones? You'll have to decide for yourself. It's my humble opinion that the resin impregnated bamboo of the Crystal Palace is nicer, but the joins on the Addi Natura are superior.

OK. I've heard people complain about the high price of quality needles. Fortunately, there are some great needles at lower prices! The Brypun plastic needles are excellent. The new points replicate those on the old balleen needles.

Also... when you spread the cost of the needles over the time it takes (to knit a quality sweater), the advantage of having the best knitting tools becomes apparent. And you still have them for future projects! Better needles make for better knitting. They also increase your enjoyment of the knitting process. Isn't that what it's all about?
